European Practice of SMEs Digitalisation for Sustainable Industry 4.0

Lecture-Seminar on “Trends in the Use of Websites and the Most Popular Data Analytics Tools by Small Businesses in EU Countries”

Yesterday, on May 8, as part of the project “European Business Digitalization Practices in the Context of Sustainable Industry 4.0,” another lecture-seminar took place on the topic: “Trends in the Use of Websites and the Most Popular Data Analytics Tools by Small Businesses in EU Countries.”

This session was held for our established audience of master’s students in the “Computer Science,” “System Analysis,” and “Information Systems and Technologies” programs at the Department of Computer Science at Ternopil Ivan Pulyuy National Technical University.

Lecturers: PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Halyna Kozbur, and PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Lesya Dmytrotsia.

The session presented an analytical overview of the relevant trends, specifically:

  • a report from the EUROPEAN E-COMMERCE commission for 2022 was presented;
  • various types of websites and their functions were analyzed;
  • the importance of developing business websites and e-commerce websites was highlighted.

Additionally, we discussed how actively small businesses use and develop their own websites and employ data analytics tools in the EU and Ukraine. We talked about the “data explosion” and business analytics, emphasizing the importance of data, the necessity of its analysis for making intelligent business decisions.

The session reviewed four types of business analytics, an overview of the top data analytics tools in Europe, and their potential use in Ukraine.

The development of websites and data analytics in business is becoming increasingly important for EU countries and the world as a whole. These tools help small and medium businesses become more competitive and efficient, enabling them to collect and analyze large volumes of data to better understand customer needs and preferences, as well as to predict consumer behavior in the future.

This is why we discussed the importance of this topic in the EU, the world, and its relevance for the development of small and medium businesses in Ukraine.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our session. We hope that the knowledge gained will help you achieve greater success in your professional development, whether in your own business or working in an existing company.

Let’s work and grow together!
