European Practice of SMEs Digitalisation for Sustainable Industry 4.0

Workshop on “Opportunities for Using Social Media for Business in the European Space”

On Monday, May 1, 2023, as part of the international project “European Business Digitalization Practices in the Context of Sustainable Industry 4.0” and Smart Manufacturing Innovation, Learning-labs, and Entrepreneurship (SMILE), we held another workshop on the topic: “Opportunities for Using Social Media for Business in the European Space.”

The lecturers were Dr. Lilia Melnyk, Professor at the Department of Innovation Management and Services, and Dr. Iryna Strutynska, Professor at the Department of Computer Science at TNTU.

Participants included master’s students majoring in 122 “Computer Science,” 124 “System Analysis,” and 126 “Information Systems and Technologies.”

During the session, we discussed current trends in the development of social media globally, in the EU, and in Ukraine, as well as their advantages for business. Various aspects of using social media for both personal life and business structures were explored.

A special topic of discussion was the trends in the use of digital technologies in social media, including deepfakes, artificial intelligence, and machine learning (AI&ML). We experimented with tools for interactive simulations to explore “Who are we?” and “What do social networks know about us?”

We emphasized the advantages of using Artificial Intelligence (Open AI (ChatGPT and DALL-E)) in business as an assistant for solving diverse business tasks. We also examined the challenges facing people and businesses in the context of the development of social media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and others.

We thank the students for their active participation and valuable comments and recommendations. We hope that the session was useful to all participants and will help them better understand the potential of using social media for business in both the domestic and European space.

Let’s work and grow together!
